Big Country Homebrewers Association was founded by homebrewers Jeff Bell and Brian Cokonougher in late 2007 to promote the hobby to the greater Abilene area and to educate for the betterment of craft beer. Since that inception, Big County Homebrewers Association has continually grown its membership and is sanctioned by the American Homebrewers Association (AHA) and is now operating under a constitution created by, and voted on by its members.
We generally meet about once per month to discuss club business, to learn and to teach about brewing great beer, and to share in our success as brewers. Many of our members enjoy homebrew competitions not only for the challenge of the competition but also as a means to learn how to make better beer and, as a group, we have a wealth of knowledge to offer the newcomer and experienced brewer alike.
